Education

University of Texas at Austin, Master’s in Social Work
Regent’s University, London, Postgraduate Certificate in Psychotherapy & Counseling
Washington & Lee University, Bachelor’s in English and Journalism

I approach my work with an awareness that the reasons we seek therapy are extremely individual. I strive to work with clients on the goals they bring, whether immediate and specific or long term and broad, and to adapt my approach as these goals evolve. I am intentional about noticing and normalizing—seeing the life stage clients are in and how this might be amplifying difficulties—and emphasizing the normalcy of struggle, pain and shame.

Having had the benefit of a therapeutic relationship during some life transitions of my own, I am passionate about the power of connection in therapy. From experience and training, I am also passionate about the power of turning toward internal conflicts rather than away from them, reflecting on the stories we tell ourselves and nurturing self-compassion. I bring a relational approach to work with adults, adolescents, couples and groups. I have a particular interest in working with young adults navigating life transitions, individuals experiencing depression and anxiety, body image issues, family conflict, grief and loss, and perinatal mental health challenges.

I have a Bachelor of Arts in English and Journalism from Washington & Lee University, a postgraduate certificate in existential, humanistic and psychodynamic psychotherapy from Regent’s University in London, and a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin.
