I’m Kat, a licensed clinical social worker-supervisor (LCSW-S) and founder of Wild Oak Therapy in Austin, Texas. I specialize in grief and trauma therapy, supporting children (ages 4+), teens, adults, and parents navigating loss, traumatic experiences, major life transitions, divorce, and complex family dynamics. My work is grounded, relational, and deeply attuned, helping clients feel seen, steadied, and supported as they make sense of what has happened and who they are becoming.

I integrate EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Internal Family Systems (IFS), mindfulness-based practices, relational talk therapy, and child-centered play therapy to meet each client where they are. Therapy with me often focuses on helping the nervous system settle, softening harsh inner critics, and gently building a more compassionate relationship with yourself and others.

As a therapist, clinical supervisor, and human who has lived through grief and change, I understand how easily people learn to carry pain quietly and keep functioning for others. I often work with clients who appear capable on the outside but feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or exhausted internally. Together, we slow things down, listen to what your body and emotions have been holding, and create space for healing that feels sustainable and real.

In addition to individual therapy, I offer parent coaching for caregivers navigating grief, divorce, and high-stress family transitions. I support parents in understanding their child’s emotional world and responding with steadiness, clarity, and compassion, especially during times when families feel stretched thin.

I’ve spent most of my life in Texas and have called Austin home for nearly a decade. Outside the therapy room, you’ll often find me trail running, cycling with my partner, reading multiple books at once, attempting to train both a dog and a cat, or watching Gilmore Girls with my daughters.
