Getting Unstuck: EMDR Intensives

Focused time for the one thing that hasn't moved.

You've done good work in therapy. You understand where it comes from. You can explain it clearly. Yet, a specific thing still won't budge.

Maybe it's a memory that still carries a charge. Maybe it's a reaction you can't talk yourself out of, or a decision you keep circling. Weekly sessions give it fifty minutes at a time, and just as you get close, the hour ends.

An EMDR intensive gives that one issue room. We choose it together, prepare carefully, and then spend 2.5-3 uninterrupted hours working on it. It is not a longer therapy session. It is a short, defined piece of work with a beginning, a middle, and an end.

How it works:

The intensive has three parts, usually completed within three to four weeks.

  1. Prep session, 80 minutes.
We name the one issue you want to work on and map what keeps it stuck. We also build the grounding skills you'll use during and after the intensive.

  2. EMDR intensive session, up to 3 hours.
One block of focused EMDR on that issue, with breaks built in. We go at the pace your nervous system sets.

  3. Follow-up integration session, 50 minutes.
One to two weeks later, we look at what shifted and what still needs attention, and we decide what comes next.

The total cost for all sessions (prep session, 3-hour EMDR session, & follow-up session) is $1250

All session are offered in person in Austin, Texas
at the offices of Wild Oak Psychotherapy
4425 South MoPac Expy / Suite 502 / Austin, Texas 78735

Who it’s for:

This intensive is for people who are already in therapy and want focused EMDR on one specific issue. That means current Wild Oak clients, and clients of other therapists who come here for the EMDR work and then return to their own therapist.

This is a good fit if:

  • You can name one specific thing you feel stuck on

  • A particular event or memory still carries a charge

  • You have a reaction or pattern that insight alone hasn't changed

  • You're facing a decision or transition and something keeps blocking you

  • Your grief feels stalled around a particular moment or loss

  • You have a therapist you'll keep working with afterward

This is not the right fit if:

  • You're in crisis or need support right now

  • You're hoping to work through your whole history in one sitting

  • You don't currently have a therapist

  • You need to bill insurance

If any of those apply, reach out anyway. We can talk about weekly therapy here or help you find the right referral.

If you already have a therapist…

You don't have to leave your therapist to do this. The intensive is designed to work alongside the therapy you already have.

  • You keep your therapist. I don't become your ongoing therapist, and the work you do here goes back with you.

  • We coordinate, with your permission. With a signed release, I talk with your therapist before the intensive and send a brief summary afterward.

  • Your therapist stays your home base. They know you best, and they're who you'll process with in the weeks that follow.

For therapists: if you have a client who is stuck on one specific piece and you don't offer EMDR, I'd be glad to talk. Your client stays your client, and we can collaborate for coordination of care.

PRICE: $1250 for the full EMDR intensive.

That includes:

  • A 15-minute phone call to see if this is a good fit

  • The 80-minute prep session

  • The EMDR intensive session, up to 3 hours

  • The 50-minute follow-up integration session

  • Coordination with your therapist, if you have one outside of Wild Oak

I offer a limited number of intensives each month. Reach out to schedule or join the waitlist.

Intensives are private pay and are not billed to insurance.
